Bank PO interview: tell me about yourself.
Model answer
Keep this to a tight ninety seconds and follow a present–past–future structure. Start with who you are now: your name, your graduation, and one line on what you have been doing recently, such as preparing seriously for banking exams. Move to relevant background: a strength or two backed by a concrete example — leading a college team, handling money in a family business, or a project that shows discipline and numeracy. Then bridge to why banking and why now: what attracts you to a PO role and how your qualities fit it. Do not recite your entire CV or personal life; pick the three or four things most relevant to a banking career. Avoid memorised, robotic delivery — interviewers can tell. End with a forward-looking line about wanting to build a long-term career in the bank. Because this is usually the first question, a calm, well-structured answer sets the tone for the whole interview, so practise it aloud until it feels natural rather than scripted.
This is a guide to structure and approach, not a script to memorise — say it in your own words.
